Arts North Studios
Funding & ScholarshipsThank you for your interest in training with Arts North Studios College.
We appreciate that managing tuition and training costs is an important part of your decision making. While we do offer a small number of scholarships, these places are very limited and highly competitive.
To give you the best chance of accessing support, we strongly encourage all applicants also to explore the external funding options listed below. Many of our students also set up GoFundMe or other crowdfunding pages to help raise additional contributions from family, friends and their network.
Recommended External Funding Opportunities
Chloe & Liam Together Forever Trust
This charity supports young people in the North East aspiring to careers in sport and performance by awarding grants for things like auditions, exams, coaching, private college tuition, equipment or travel. Please note that if you are not successful the first time you apply for the trust, you can keep submitting applications. If awarded funding students will need to wait a full year before applying again for further funding.
Sunday for Sammy Trust
This North East based trust awards grants to young performing artists aged 16+ to help with training, fees, equipment and more.
Ignite Bursary Programme (via Sunderland Culture)
A local creative bursary scheme that provides financial support to young people experiencing hardship or challenging circumstances, to help develop artistic knowledge and skills in performing arts and creative sectors.
Arts North Studios Scholarships
Means Tested
Our own scholarship places are means tested, meaning we consider the financial circumstances of the applicant and/or their family when making decisions. These scholarship places are reserved for those who demonstrate both strong artistic potential and genuine financial need. Preference will be given to applicants who:
- Complete the standard application form for training at Arts North Studios College.
- Submit any additional requested documentation (for example household income evidence)
Because funds are limited, meeting the means-tested criteria does not guarantee a scholarship place — it simply enables fair assessment.
Further Guidance
In addition to the funds and scholarships above, many students find that setting up a GoFundMe or similar crowdfunding page helps them raise contributions from family, friends, local community, or creative supporters.
When doing so, you may wish to mention your training at Arts North Studios College, the performance ambition you have, and clearly state how the funds will support you (tuition, travel to auditions, equipment, etc.). We are happy to provide you with documentation (such as a Fee Breakdown, Acceptance Letter, or Course Outline) to support your fundraising efforts.
If you need help preparing funding applications, advice on crowdfunding, or require any supporting documentation from us, please contact our admissions team:

We are here to support you through the process and look forward to your application.
